Andy's information
Andy Buckman celebrates 10 years of living on the Island this year having moved here with his wife Lorraine after spending many years living in Suffolk. Andy joined WCR in the Spring of 2025 after suffering a heart attack early in January.
Now fully retired, Andy’s career was mostly spent in management roles in the retail sector where he worked mainly in Wines and Spirits which also provided him with the opportunity to live and work in France for a time. He has also held management roles in a training company and also in an agricultural marketing business.
Since moving to the Island Andy has worked as a volunteer for several organisations including Shanklin Theatre, Ryde Museum and the Steam Railway. He currently volunteers for Independent Arts and is a committee member of the U3A Group on the Island where he is also holds the role of Treasurer.
Andy is a passionate believer in the work that that Lyn and her team at WCR do and understands personally the difference that they make to anyone that has had heart issues. He is very pleased to join as a Trustee so that he can make an active contribution to WCR’s sustainability and ambitions for the future.
