On Sunday 30th April 2023, over 50 members of the Cardiac Rehab Club, set of for their annual sponsored walk.

They all met up in Newport at the Shide Car Park, all getting ready for the off at 10.00am. Karen Eels arranged for use of the Car Park and she also had a Coffee and Tea Van plus and Ice Cream Van for refreshments.

Lyn started the walkers off on their hike to Merstone, with Alison as the back marker. There were lots of other users on the path, including cyclist who were riding as part of cyclewight. We had a cut off time this year of 11.30 for the last walker to arrive at the half way point. Gary and Tony Gregory arrived 15 minutes after that time, so they had to call the minibus back to collect Tony.

The weather was perfect for the six mile walk there and back to Newport. On arriving back Karen Eels presented everyone with a medal for their efforts, cakes were provided by Ron Moss's daughter, coffees drunk and ice creams eaten. Everyone made their way home by 13.30.
