John's information

John Beeby moved to the island from Warwickshire in Autumn 2021 and joined the IoW Heart Care Club in February 2022.

 

John has spent a life in education. Following the completion of his Ph.D., he taught for over 20 years in secondary schools in Warwickshire and Birmingham. During that time, he procured monies for educational work, including scientific projects with UK industries and EU funding for collaborative assignments with European schools.

 

On leaving teaching in 2002, he went on to fulfil a senior examining role with one of the examination boards, coordinating the work of examiners and moderators.

 

Since 2000, John has authored or co-authored some 20 Science textbooks for secondary school students, for the UK and foreign markets, so additionally, brings to WCR writing and proofreading skills.

 

He volunteered to join the committee of the Heart Care Club in December 2022 and is a great advocate of the work of WCR. He has considered the support and friendship with other members of the Ryde group to be mutually beneficial.
